Date Published 30 March 2021

With lockdown fully underway is it safe to say we have been spending more time in our homes than ever before, although lock down is coming to an end with some restrictions easing, there are still a lot of restrictions to follow. A lot of people may be struggling with this, but we are here to give a few tips and ideas on how to make the best of your home during lockdown…
Cleaning your home can also help clear your head. Saturday the 20th of march was the first day of spring, which means the start of spring cleaning! Sometimes decluttering your home can help relax you and calm you. Not everyone has been dealing well with social distancing and staying home, so sometimes it helps to keep yourself busy and decluttering your home can be the start to doing so, cleaning your home is one great way to calm your mind and feel at ease.

Creating a safe space in your home is also very important, whether that space is cuddled up on your favourite sofa in front of the TV or sat in the kitchen listening to the radio we all have our escapes within our homes, so it is very important that you find yours, and keep that space special and nice especially during lockdown. You can continuously add to that space and change it too however you like, enjoy having that little bit of fun doing so and also helps you too think more creative.
This week we are having the most beautiful sun, up to 22-23 degrees and not a cloud in sight, so if you have a garden what a perfect way to relax and have some fun, Whether that is doing some gardening, planting your favourite kind of flowers and sprucing up the garden or could be having a delicious BBQ with the people you live with, having a garden is definitely something to take advantage of right now. If you do not have a garden don't worry, open up all the windows, let in all of the fresh air and sunshine and get your favourite music playing and lift your mood! A fun fact about the sun: Exposure to sunlight is thought to increase the brain's release of a hormone called serotonin. Serotonin is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused.

We hope some of these ideas and tips help with the last few weeks of lockdown!
