The Estate Agency All-Stars training programme, which seeks to recruit and train beginners before they start work, says it is planning to place several hundred recruits in its first year.
The scheme, launched in February, is a joint venture between recruiter Josh Rayner, of Rayner Personnel, and industry trainers Julian O’Dell and Peter Chapman of TM.
Rayner said: `We believe that entry qualifications for estate agency will come in time, so we are providing good-quality training until that point.
`We will be training and placing almost 500 new recruits in the first year, and our objective is that by 2020, every estate agency firm in the country will employ an Estate Agency All Star.`
The venture now has the backing of Relocation Agent Network, formerly Home Sale Network.
The All-Stars recruitment process includes a video interview and a number of tests, including psychometric, literacy and numeracy.
Communication skills, legislation, interpersonal behaviour, selling techniques and the nuts and bolts of sales and lettings are included in an initial training programme.
Once completed, the highest performing recruits are then presented to prospective employers and chosen trainees are invited to a five to nine-day training course. The course is intended to produce trainees who are effective in their new jobs from day one.
